I am a bit of Holiday Inn fan and from time to time I stay in their hotels in the different countries. This time in Rotorua New Zealand. The first thing what I did not understand completely was the distance from the city centre to the hotel which is around two kilometres. A bit too far away with all the luggage by foot. Somehow I missed also the information that there is a free shuttle bus every hour fifteen minutes past the hour from the information centre. The hotel is located next to Whakarewarewa Thermal Village which was a nice experience. The room was nice, fully matching the Holiday Inn general standard. I enjoyed also the open air thermally heated swimming pool which was a bit special feature. I do not remember many Holiday inns with a swimming pool if any at all. Also special feature is a self service laundry. I would stay again just ordering the shuttle bus in advance that time.
